Rakeback Information Website

Welcome to Rakeback Facts – The Only Rakeback Info Site

This site was created because there is a need for unbiased, robust, factually correct information about online poker rakeback.  While there is a lot of information about rakeback on the web, it is all presented by commercial rakeback providers.  While there may be no hidden agenda by the people and companies providing information about the various aspects of rakeback, it is hard not to be a little rosy or marketing driven, no matter how hard you try, when your main motivation is to sign people up for a rakeback account.  Sometimes, you just need an answer to a specific question you have about rakeback, or you have heard the term “rakeback” and want to find out “What is rakeback?”

With that in mind, I set out to create the first purely information based rakeback site.  In full disclosure, I do run one very small rakeback site focusing on one poker room, which I will not name.  I have no other interest except to provide you with helpful information about one thing: rakeback.  But I do come from the advantageous perspective of a former professional poker player who has had rakeback since the concept was brand new in 2004, and I also am a poker webmaster who runs multiple online poker information sites and have an intimate knowledge about the business side of online poker.  But enough about me and Rakeback Facts – Why are you here?

So what is rakeback?

To explain what rakeback is, first you must understand what rake is.  Online poker sites make their money by taking a small portion of each pot.  This is called the rake.  When a rakeback provider signs a player up for rakeback, the provider gets a portion of that rake as a referral fee.  The rakeback provider then pays a portion of that fee back to the player.  After taking a slightly complicated path, the player gets a percentage of her rake back, hence the very clever term ‘rakeback’.  For a more detailed account of the workings of rakeback visit our “What is rakeback?” page or rakeback basics section.

How much rakeback can I get?

Most online poker sites have a set percentage of rakeback that every player receives, no matter which rakeback provider they sign up with or how much rake they generate.  This standardized rakeback percentage for most poker sites falls between 25% and 35%.  Some of our highest rated poker sites‘ standard rakeback percentages are listed below:

  • Full Tilt Poker Rakeback 27%
  • PKR Rakeback 30%
  • Cake Poker Rakeback 33%
  • Betfair Poker Rakeback 30%

Some poker sites offer higher percentages to lure poker players away from these more popular rakeback poker sites.  Generally, the sites that you can get the highest rakeback percentages on are newer, or smaller poker rooms.  You should sign up at newer poker sites at your own risk.  There have been multiple new rakeback poker sites that have folded and either kept players funds or had a difficult time paying players the money they were owed.  Two of the more high profile poker site closure fiascos recently were Cardspike and Eurolinx.  Make sure you consult our blacklisted poker sites list before signing up for rakeback anywhere. Some of the higher percentage rakeback sites that I can recommend are below:

  • FatBet Poker Rakeback 50%
  • PayNoRake Rakeback up to 100%

How much money can I make with rakeback?

Although you earn a very small amount of money per hand of poker played via rakeback, when you play thousands or tens of thousands of poker hands per month, these small increments can add up to large numbers.  My mom has rakeback and makes about $50 per month playing a couple hours a night after work.  I generally make $4,000 to $6,000 per month playing about 25 hours of $2/$4 no limit cash games per week.  High stakes players who play a lot of hands can make more than $15,000 per month in rakeback alone.  The amount of rakeback you earn is a function of how many hands you play per month and the stakes that you play at.  The higher either of these factors are, the more rakeback you will earn.  For more info, see our see our page titled “How much money can I make with rakeback?
